Head Coach Ventsi Stoimirov

   Coach Ventsi Stoimirov started the women's soccer program at Grand View College in 1998.  The program has been recognized as one of the premier programs in the Midwest, and the team has been ranked regionally and nationally in the last four years.  The Vikings won back-to-back Midwest Collegiate Conference titles in 2003 and 2004, and finished as runner up in 2005 and 2007.  The program has produced numerous athletes with All American, All Region, and All Conference recognition. 
   Stoimirov, who has an International FIFA/UEFA "B" Coaching License, also has ten years of club coaching experience with boys and girls teams.  His teams have won five state (Iowa) championships and many tournaments.
   He was a six-year starter for the Des Moines menace (1994-96, 1998-2000), playing on the teams that reached the final four of the National Tournament in 1995 and 1998.  In the 2000 season, he was selected as the Fans MVP.
   Stoimirov grew up in Bulgaria, playing for the CSKA F.C. Sofia.  He was a member of three national championship teams on youth and collegiate levels.  He was also a member of the U-17 national Team Pool and played in the second division of what is not the Professional Soccer League.
